Hafr Al-Batin Municipality Launches Public Awareness Campaign to Promote the Use of Smart Pedestrian Crossings

Hafr Al-Batin Municipality has launched a public awareness campaign aimed at promoting the proper use of smart pedestrian crossings, which contribute to improving road safety and protecting lives. The initiative forms part of the Municipality’s ongoing efforts to enhance quality of life and create safer roads throughout the governorate.

The campaign follows the recent implementation of 20 smart pedestrian crossings at key locations across Hafr Al-Batin. These crossings are equipped with advanced lighting and warning systems that alert motorists when pedestrians are present, creating a safer environment for road users, particularly near schools, markets, and public parks.

The campaign seeks to increase public awareness of the importance of using designated pedestrian crossings and to encourage responsible driving behaviour, ultimately contributing to a reduction in traffic accidents and supporting national road safety objectives.

Hafr Al-Batin Municipality emphasized that the initiative reflects the integrated efforts of relevant authorities and its commitment to providing a safe and sustainable urban environment that supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 while placing public safety at the forefront of its priorities.
