His Royal Highness the Governor of Hafr Al-Batin Inaugurates 20 Smart Pedestrian Crossings Featuring Interactive Ground Lighting Technology
His Royal Highness Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdullah bin Faisal, Governor of Hafr Al-Batin, inaugurated 20 smart pedestrian crossings across various locations in the governorate during the eleventh meeting of the Governorate Traffic Safety Committee, attended by committee members representing government and security agencies.
The inauguration forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the traffic safety system and enhance road user safety. The crossings have been equipped with interactive ground lighting technology integrated with traffic signals, helping to alert drivers and increase awareness at pedestrian crossing points, particularly in high-traffic and strategically important locations.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness emphasized the importance of coordination among all relevant entities to achieve traffic safety objectives, stressing the need to continue implementing high-impact initiatives that enhance quality of life and safeguard the well-being of the community.
Hafr Al-Batin Municipality stated that the smart pedestrian crossings have officially entered operational service at their designated locations following the completion of installation and technical testing. The Municipality noted that the project is part of its broader plan to develop infrastructure, improve the urban landscape, and enhance road safety standards.
The project represents a significant step forward in utilizing modern technology to serve the community and reflects the governorate’s continued commitment to sustainable development and innovation.
