Hafr Al-Batin Municipality Receives Delegation from Eastern Province Development Authority and Environmental Entities to Discuss Afforestation and Environmental Sustainability

Hafr Al-Batin Municipality received a delegation from the Eastern Province Development Authority, the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification, Hima Environmental Society, the “Hafr Al-Batin Green” Initiative, and Saudi Electricity Company. The meeting discussed the establishment of an Afforestation Office, along with its future roles and responsibilities.

The meeting addressed the comprehensive development plan for the governorate, as well as the approval of an action plan for afforestation projects and related initiatives, contributing to enhancing vegetation cover and improving quality of life in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The meeting also reviewed the landfill development plan and related mechanisms to ensure the sustainability of environmental projects, optimize resource utilization, enhance urban landscape improvement efforts, and preserve the environment.

Hafr Al-Batin Municipality confirmed that this cooperation is an extension of its partnerships with relevant entities to promote sustainable development in the governorate and support environmental initiatives that contribute to achieving the objectives of the National Environment Strategy.
