In line with Saudi Vision 2030 and as part of the nationwide observance of Saudi Green Initiative Day, Hafr Al-Batin Municipality organized a distinguished environmental awareness event at Flaij Al-Shamali Park. The event attracted strong participation from visitors and environmental enthusiasts, reaffirming the Municipality's leading role in supporting sustainability initiatives and raising public awareness of the importance of afforestation and environmental conservation.

The event commenced with an open panel discussion featuring Mr. Abdullah bin Busaiss, Chief Executive Officer of the Hafr Al-Batin Green Initiative, who highlighted the initiative's objectives, including expanding vegetation cover, promoting a culture of tree planting, and contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions in alignment with the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative. He also presented the initiative's latest developments, future plans, and ongoing efforts to encourage active participation by the local community in environmental protection.

For his part, Dr. Ryan Al-Saab, Assistant Mayor for Services, spoke about Hafr Al-Batin Municipality's efforts to support environmental initiatives through integrated afforestation projects, urban landscape enhancement, and the development of parks and green spaces. He emphasized the Municipality's role in expanding green areas and improving quality of life across the governorate.

The discussion was moderated by Mr. Nasser Al-Hamad and was characterized by an engaging and interactive atmosphere, with open dialogue and constructive contributions from attendees, reflecting the growing interest of the local community in environmental issues and related national initiatives.

At the conclusion of the event, more than 1,000 seedlings were distributed to visitors in cooperation with the Environmental Protection Association. The seedlings included a variety of species well suited to the climate of Hafr Al-Batin, including Tecoma, Ghaf, Native Sidr, Jatropha, and Indian Jasmine. The initiative aimed to encourage home gardening, increase tree planting, and create a lasting positive environmental impact.

This event forms part of a broader series of activities and initiatives implemented by Hafr Al-Batin Municipality in support of the Saudi Green Initiative, with the objective of promoting environmental sustainability, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship, and achieving ecological balance through partnership with the local community and relevant stakeholders.
